The Daily Faves

Have you had your Daily fix today?

Victoria “Posh” Beckham attended the birthday party for Net-A-Porter (the designer shopping website) in London last night. See how cold and uncomfortable she looks? Well, what you are looking at here is a shot in which a nearby oscillating fan sent a small burst of wind at her, and since she weighs about, oh, I’d say 80 lbs. she had to hold on to French fashion designer Roland Mouret or risk being blown out of the party!
Phew, close call, close call.

So I came across this pic of Josh Duhamel and Fergie in Milan and something other than Josh’s astounding good looks stuck out at me. What the hell is going on with his shoes??? These are so far from cool that they ran down the block, around the corner, and hopped in a cab- to successfully dodge being cool. Now his footwear is just as fugly as his wife’s face. Oh snap! Did I say that? That was mean.

The shoes are that bad. hehe.

So as someone who literally wears black Havaianas everyday (and rarely ventures away from that standard) I gotta say these little flippy-floppies are adorable. And at $3.50! - definitely can’t go wrong there.

Mary-Kate attended the “Holy Rollers” premiere last night in New York (I am assuming because sister Ashley’s boyfriend, Justin Bartha, is in the film) and I don’t know where to begin.
With this outfit of leopard, fringe, overdone accessories and ill-fitting pants she looks like someone’s crazy Aunt Pearl who smokes 2 packs a day and loves to break out her Tarot cards at family gatherings. She probably rolled up to the premiere in her 87′ Le Sabre I’m sure, with a Garfield doll suction-cupped to the back window. Oh yeah. Everyone loves Aunt Pearl. She always has gum.

Mary Kate Olsen hit up the Otarian Restaurant Grand Opening in New York tonight toting what is apparently Elaine Benes’s backpack. Its like she reached back to 1993 and dragged that sucker to the present time red carpet. I’m not going to say it looks bad (’cause it is clearly self evident). But let it be known now, that this is probably a new trend in it’s infancy. Fashion is a recycling system and therefore we have been expecting a backpack revival, clearly that time has come. Brace yourself.

Sarah Jessica Parker took the award for my favorite look of the night in vintage Chanel.

Kristen Stewart surprisingly made it on my best dressed list thanks to her gorgeous navy blue Monique Lhullier. This gown is beautiful and was sort of wasted on her pasty, awkward, bad acting, and bad hair’ed self.

Miley, oh Miley. You have the WORST posture, the most annoying voice, and you shouldn’t be at the Oscars to begin with BUT you always have a great dress! It’s so bittersweet. This Jenny Packham is flawless. And Miley’s makeup was gorgeous while her hair, was “eh”. This was probably my second fav of the night.

Rachel, stunning. The watercolor feel of this sweetheart cut Elie Saab Haute Couture was captivating. The chandelier earrings, and one big cocktail ring were the perfect accessories. Love, love, love.

For my best dressed male, I chose Robert Downey Jr. It’s very hard to pick a “best dressed” for men since they all wear basically the same thing with slight variations unnoticeable unless you have a skilled eye. However, Robert’s bright aqua bow tie and black kicks are refreshing and youthful. He could stand to lose the blue shades but whatever, they matched.

And finally, the Zef. He is on here just because, well, he needs to be seen. Looking ever so handsome as always, Zac attended the show solo (without fug, girlfriend V-hudge) thank God. Im not digging his new spiky hair so much but damn, this is a good pic.

So the Academy Awards are here again and before we set forth into an evening of ooh’s and aah’s and whathef*cks. I would like to just reminisce a bit on one of my favorite Oscar gowns of all time, and one of my least.

Charlize Theron’s 2006 John Galliano for Christian Dior gown took my breath away when I saw it, and although many people hate it- something about the color, structure and overall look makes me still hold it as one of my favorites.

And for the worst, I crown Jessica Biel with the honor. I remember first thinking, “why is Jessica Biel at the Oscars??” and then second “What the hell is going on with her dress?!” Not only is this Prada gown a nightmare due to it being ill fitting and sloppy, but her hair is all crazy looking too! Her stylist deserved an epic fail.

Here are my favorite fashionistas Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen at last nights Style Awards in London. Ashley as well all know is my fave and my fashion icon but she’s not being very iconic tonight. And Mary Kate is way too covered up for her age. Girl, show a little skin while you can, one day you will have to cover every inch of your body thanks to gravity so let’s not do it now. Sheesh.

So Kim Kardashian debuted her new line (done in collaboration with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe) for Bebe yesterday at fashion week. Although I am not a fan of Bebe’s clothes I took a gander at the line because I like the way Kim and Kourtney dress. I can’t say I am surprised that the line is mediocre at best and is typical of the Hollywood club girl attire Bebe has come known for in my mind.  Kim is wearing one of the looks above, need I say more? Also, I have never in my life seen a “designer” seated for one of their shows. But I guess since Kim in NOT a fashion designer her sitting front row is more of the norm for her, which is where she was the whole time. Why Bebe even shows at NY fashion week is what I am more interested in. Check out the line at
Bebe.com.

Kid Cudi is featured in the current issue of Time Out New York as one of their “Most Stylish New Yorkers” and I completely agree. On his inspiration, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi says,
“I always took [style tips] from my older brother and sister, who wore simple, classic things. But I still layered a lot, and in high school, I was a young young’un, all Phat Farmed–out, wearing Sean John, Ecko, Rocawear and Akademiks. I felt like I needed to buy what was cool, instead of just wearing comfortable shit. Now I feel like my personality is this character, and when you watch a cartoon show, the characters aren’t changing their outfit every 15 seconds. That’s why I wear the same jeans every day.”

Calling his style “simple and classic” he is a male fashion-ista to be watched. With his skinny jeans and simplistic tee’s he stands out in an unassuming way. Lots of layering adds to his dressing dynamic and although he keeps it low key in most pieces, he does throw in a few really nice accessories to tip the scale. A+
Just one more reason to love him.
